Montverde Academy’s annual Diversity Fest returned in vibrant fashion this year, celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and backgrounds that make up our global community. Held on Friday, October 17, 2025, the event transformed the campus into a lively showcase of music, dance, food, and art from around the world. Students, families, faculty, and staff came together to share their heritage and learn from one another, reflecting MVA’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, understanding, and unity through cultural appreciation.
“Diversity Fest has been a longstanding tradition that started at Montverde Academy since I have been attending since Pre-K4,” said senior Koryn Scott. “My family is Jamaican, so it was exciting to see an event that celebrated different cultures—especially since Jamaican culture is all about sharing and having fun. My mom, Joan Scott, was one of the first people to cook homemade food for Diversity Fest. Her love language is cooking, and I would say she’s one of the best cooks I know. I think her decision to bring homemade food truly changed the Diversity Fest from just a celebration of culture to an immersive experience that felt warm and inclusive. This 2025 Diversity Fest being my last one, I felt so much pride seeing how far it has come in terms of decorations, preparation, and presentation. It was such a fun experience, and I’m proud of how much it has grown.”
Koryn’s sister Kaylah, MVA Class of 2019, returned to this year’s Diversity Fest to help her family with the Jamaican tent. "It was wonderful to return and see how much Diversity Fest has grown!" she shared. "It’s so important, and truly beautiful, to see everyone coming together to celebrate and uplift diversity. The Jamaican tent really delivered this year, with people circling back for seconds.”
Koryn的姐姐Kaylah(蒙特沃德学院2019届毕业生)也重返活动现场,协助管理牙买加主题展棚。
Another alum, Zihao “Max” Zhang, Class of 2025, returned to perform the Dragon Dance with the Chinese Student Union, a dance he had also performed while an officer for the club during his time at MVA. “I was very amazed by our Diversity Fest this year, especially our K-pop Dance Club and the Chinese Student Union,” said Max. “It was a great blessing for me to witness and be involved in the performances!”
As the night came to a close, the energy and joy that filled the campus served as a powerful reminder of the beauty found in diversity and connection. What began years ago as a small celebration has grown into a cherished tradition that continues to unite students, alumni, families, and faculty from around the world. Through shared stories, flavors, and performances, Diversity Fest 2025 once again highlighted what makes the MVA community so special—a spirit of inclusion, respect, and pride in the many cultures that together make Montverde Academy a truly global family.
