On Saturday, March 29, the Montverde Academy Varsity Academic Team competed at the 2025 Florida Quizbowl State Championship. Hosted by the University of Florida, the MVA Eagles competed in seven preliminary rounds, eventually winning six rounds to make it to the playoffs. Led by captain Laven Parker, seniors Vaasu Gadiparthi and Ali Cheema and juniors Jacob Novis and John Drawdy won two out of the three playoff rounds, earning second place in the overall tournament.
